Where does the term “SALSA” come from? Salsa is a combination of languages; Arabic, Spanish and Italian. Now that is random! We describe salsa as a spicy sauce that is mainly consumed with chips. Salsa has been transformed over the years. Salsa dates back to the Era of the Aztecs and Mayans. These civilizations consumed their meals with salsa. Salsa was made from chiles and tomatoes. Tomatoes were first introduced to these civilizations by the Spaniards. Do you see a connection? References (2008). History of Salsa Food - Lifestyle Lounge - iloveIndia.com.
