Synergy is the result of creative cooperation. It is an idea that we have learned in the past, “two heads are better than one.” It is a process that leads to better and improved solutions. This is the process that leaders and teachers should incorporate on a daily basis. During our grade level meetings, we all cooperate in an effective way that leads us to better solutions and ideas than if working alone. When individuals cooperate in a community, they bring their experiences with them and share what they know with others. However, individuals must be open to differences. Everyone is different, and they bring different ideas that others may have never have considered. In general, differences are what synergy is driven by as various individuals with varying experiences cooperate (Covey). Stephen Covey mentions that differences should be seen as strengths, not weakness. | |
As a leader, I have a few questions in regards to this habit, as I am sure there will be times when colleagues may feel threatened by others. How can one value other’s differences when they feel threatened? What can a leader do to ensure that everyone is synergized?
