Reference (2013). Why Enterprise Architecture? - YouTube. Retrieved January 25, 2015, from http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qDI2oF1bASk. | “An enterprise architecture is a conceptual blueprint that defines the structure and operation of an organization,” (Techtarget). I understand a “blueprint” as a map, design, or layout that explains how a company is organized, and this design increases efficiency and productivity for the company. Every company has an enterprise architecture. It is the overall structure of the company and how it functions. For instance, I see it as different departments within a company and how they each function internally and externally. One area that intrigues me is how a company’s business model is reflected in the enterprise architecture. How is Apple’s business model reflected in their enterprise architecture? What is a typical enterprise architecture for a school system? How is a school system’s enterprise architecture different and similar to that of a public company?
